It's not. The only way two browsers can talk to each other is with server assistance. You could write a PBE (play-by-email), but this only really does stragegy.

Same for Java - talk to your ISP - they might have some provisions for this.

Any idea whether it is theoretically possible to write a two player game (between two browsers) with only IE5/DHTML (no custom activeX content)?
