Cable input side of router goes to output of modem.

Or have you got a version with a built-in cable modem? (Input of router goes to master cable socket).

Or have you bought the ADSL version router in error?

Hi, having a problem connecting a Belkin wireless router to a cable modem for a friend.

I can establish a wireless connection from a laptop to the router, but the router is not connecting to the Internet. The router and cable modem are connected via RJ45 cable. I haven't really inspected the wired connections yet, I assumed they are correct. Assuming they are correct, what else can be wrong? I set up the router to establish a "Dynamic" connection and the ISP told me that a host name is not required.
