Can you Bleed a background Image through a table?

I'm redesigning a site using Dreamweaver. I've got a background image set in the CSS for my body tag. The content for my pages covers up a portion of the background image used in the template. Is there a way to "bleed" the background of the page through a table so that the background image shows through on each page?
