How to exclude empty text fields in Mailto Form?

Can someone please tell me how to exclude empty text fields from being shown in a mailto confirmation and email submission?  I have a form that has over 300 text fields for quanity... many people will only choose a couple of items and I would like the form confimation and email to only show the fields that have been used to insert a quanity... no one seems to be able to help me.  Can you?  (Thanks!)

How are you creating the email? Is it a simple action="mailto:me@address.com" method? If yes then it gets quite complicated - you need to use Javascript to go through the form and delete any form elements from the DOM tree that have empty values.
