 Set up web site

What is the least expensive way to set up a web site? I will need to have about 20 pages people can click on. I don't want a bunch of ads that I would have no control over. This is basically public service site, so I won't be making a bunch of money off the site, that's why I have to keep the costs low.

Sincerely, John Garber

The absolute least expensive way is to use a free hosting service on the web. Of course, if you do that you can't have your own domain (your own www).

If you want your own domain, they vary in how much they cost to register, and hosting companies vary as well, but I've seen some as low as $8 or so per month (but you have to pay yearly, instead of month-to-month).

If you have DSL, you might consider looking at DynDNS.

I use this company in the US and if you pay for a year it costs about $8 a month+$20 for setup and includes a domain as well. You can also pay quarterly but have to register your own domain and through them it costs as little as $12. I've been using them now for about 6 years and never had a problem with them. They are www.hostmysite.com and  definitely would recommend them.
