 Server Side PDF Creation

Hello guys,

I haven't been on here in a long time, and I am hoping you could guide me into the best direction.  Our programmer needs to write server side code which would allow him to convert SQL data into a PDF document.  He would need to be able to embed the following information in the PDF.

- In document hyperlinks

- standard hyperlinks

- SQL Data

- Images

I am guessing that he might need to purchase a library to help him code the solution.  I was looking at PDFlib.

However, I figured I would ask the experts.  :-)  So here I am.  Maybe one of you have worked on a similar project in the past and have a better recommendation.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Chad

first things first,

did you ever get an answer to your last question about hiding scripts?

I get a kick every time I see that thread.  It's amazing how long it has become.  I wrote that e-mail years ago, when I was poor, overdosing on coffee and programming in my cheap apartment.

Old memories.. ;)

I know that at least one free solution is available for PHP; unfortunately, I forget its name at the moment.
Googling 'PHP PDF creation' or similar should help.

I've used PDFLib years ago back in the old ASP COM ages but I haven't used it lately. What's your server platform? There's lots of free Java based libraries to build pdfs. .NET has a couple, and as cdrom600  there's at least one free PHP lib.

Possibly helpful: FPDF, Apache FOP, tutorial using "only PHP".
